Right to Care is looking for suitable candidates to fill the Adherence Fieldworker (Mother Champion) Positions in Limpopo x 8 (Tshamahansi x1 , Mapela x1 , Sekuruwe x1 , Regorogile x1 , Eerstegeluk x1 , Maseven x1 ,Mashabela x1 , Phasha x1 )
The Mother Champion will play a key role in improving maternal and child health outcomes by supporting expectant and new mothers. The position involves facilitating community-based mental wellbeing interventions, providing emotional and informational support, and empowering mothers with tools and resources to navigate their perinatal journey effectively.
Required Minimum Qualifications :
- Matric (Grade12)
- Basic knowledge of pregnancy and child health
- Basic knowledge of sexual reproductive health and psychosocial support programmes
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Social Auxiliary Work or Child and Youth Care Work
Required Minimum Skills and Experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy and the ability to build trust with mothers.
- Knowledge of maternal and child health issues.
- Basic proficiency in data collection & reporting tools.
- Prior experience in maternal health, community engagement, or a related field
- Basic fluency in English and advanced proficiency in Sepedi.
- Familiarity with local cultural and health systems is an advantage.
Key Performance Areas (KPAs)
Engagement & Outreach:
- Identify and invite expectant and new mothers to join the support program.
- Facilitate and moderate community platforms to ensure ongoing support.
- Participate in community awareness events to promote maternal health initiatives.
Capacity Building: - Provide mentorship and training to mothers on utilizing tools and resources for maternal and child health.
- Deliver regular support interactions, including postnatal wellbeing check-ins.
- Assist in the integration of tools and resources into care points for expectant mothers.
Support and Facilitation: - Conduct guided sessions on coping mechanisms and self-awareness using tools like Vimbo app.
- Ensure mothers feel supported, informed, and empowered throughout their pregnancy and parenting journey.
- Facilitate referrals for mental health and other specialized services as required.
Data Management & Reporting:
- Enter beneficiary details into the program's data system and ensure accurate records.
- Track and report on mothers' participation, outcomes, and progress in the program on the data system.
- Support monitoring and evaluation efforts by collecting and sharing feedback from mothers.
- Attend regular data feedback meetings to track progress and identify gaps.
- Provide suggestions and innovations where appropriate on how the interventions can be improved.
Administration:
- Ensure weekly data collection and submission of data and other required information to the Programme Coordinator.
- Ensure regular and accurate communication with Programme Coordinator in a timely manner.
Asset Management:
- Ensure all assets provided are signed for and cared for.
- In the case of damage to a company asset, report this immediately to line manager as well as complete an incident report form.
